Hands-free power tailgate (Power tailgate lift) is a back-door system, the user of the vehible controls the liftgate / tailgate opening and closing by pressing a key located on the dashboard or handheld or remoting the key, or by using any object operation in the corresponding region of the liftgate.

There has features that allow you to open or close the liftgate without your hands or pressing any buttons.
To open your liftgate, submitted to kick you leg forward in back under the sensor of the rear bumper below the license plate. Then stay back to the gate base to open. To close it, you can kick you leg under the bo again or simply push the liftgate close button located on the button of the liftgate. If you don't want to use the hands-free capability, you can always use the liftgate button on your key fob, the button on the instrument panel, or the button located on the liftgate handle.
Hands-free liftgates and trunks are rapidly becoming available on more models. Many more vehicles offer power liftgates or trunks activated by pushing a button on a key fob or inside the vehicle.

| 1.With the hands-free liftgate, there's no need to set down your cargo. So simply leave it in your hands. You will, however, need to have your key fob outside the vehicle and within 3' of liftgate, so it's best to have it in your pocket or purse. |
| 2.Swing your foot, forward then backward, underneath the center of the rear bumper, in the same location as your license plate. |
| 3.Next, take a step or two back so that the liftgate has space to open. The liftgate will wait briefly to allow you time to do so. |
| 4.Once you've put your cargo in the back of your car, you can press the liftgate close button on the liftgate, or simply swing your foot underneath the bumper once more. Either way will work. |
Keep in mind that the liftgate can also be opened using your key fob, through a button on the instrument panel or using the button on the liftgate handle. Plus, the one exception to the guide above is for vehicles with an available trailer tow package, you can swing your foot under the bumper to the left or right of the tow hitch.
Of course, this is tremendously convenient during those one or two times a month when your hands are full with breakable items, such as glass dinnerware, or baby sheep. Allow me to provide a few examples.
Examples1:
When you are holding many things, you don't need to put things down. You just put your foot under the rear of sensor to open the tail gate. Then, you can press a button to close it, such as the button on the key fob, the button on the tail gate. Convenient!
Examples2:
The tail gate is too heavy, too high, too dirty. I am a girl wearing a beautiful dress.
Too heavy, I can't open the trunk.
Too high, When I want to close it, I can't reach it.
Too dirty, It will easier to make my dress dirty. I can't stand it!
Since I have installed the hands-free smart liftgate, I don't have to worry about these problems anymore. I can control my trunk freely.
Examples3:
If you press the button accidentally when you are sorting things in the trunk, don't worry, the tail gate will sense obstacles automatically and then stopping running. Safely!
